Hello there,

I have been prescribed prednisolone tablets to combat the inflammation and extended flare symptoms - i HATE them they taste yuk and give me indigestion :(

I managed to crunch one by mistake this morning and Paul couldnnt help but laugh at the face this made me pull, he has been great keeping me upbeat and smiling thru' difficult times...

Hopefully these tablets will be a temporary measure ~ just have to see how it goes.... i did feel a little better yesterday but very hot and flarey again this morning,

I have left work - they wrote to me advising dont be hasty, have a think - but my letter was very clear and they eventually accepted this yesterday,

my team didn't know and were thinking i was off sick - when my contract was finished by me on account of workplace issues - on Thursday. I had calls and emails wishing me well, get well soon and it has been very difficult especially when I returned my keys and things. I have insisted they are told the truth appropriately.
My senior is already aware from me due to necessary handover issues. I will miss them and the people we support very much :(

I missed my appointment at the job centre by arriving just 2 mins late on Monday so this had to be rescheduled for today - even though both people i needed to see were free, i was very organised with all paperwork and reasons were because i had a call about a job just as i was leaving the house!

Anyway, I have got a job interview on Thursday morning and another one in the pipeline. Headaches improving slightly so that s good lets hope indigestion and flare are next to go....

Thanks so much for all your support and good wishes xxXxx

I'm so glad to see you've been given something to try and get this flare under control. I know what you mean about the taste ... there aren't words to describe it!!

It sounds like you've been under an awful lot of strain lately. Maybe things can start to settle down now and your health will finally improve too.

That's excellent news about the job interview! Take your time finding a new job though. I think you'd benefit immensely from some quiet time at home. Still, best of luck for Thursday!!

Glad you've got some help for the flare Liz, hope they work well for you.
Good luck with the job interviews, although I do agree with Joanna, you could do with some time off inbetween jobs.

Love, Doreen xx

Dear Liz,

HAVE THE DEPO Smile it's great and works pretty quickly. Much easier than taking prednisolene, which I believe is steroid in tablet form and of course, has to go through your stomach Scared

I have had several depo jabs to get me over difficult patches. Especially when I have had a flare just before a holiday. They are wonderful and I don't think they can do as much harm as tablets !!

Good luck. Ann

Got back from job centre earlier with a stung leg and arm as I parked too close to some nettles - it was bad enough going in without getting stung! Ouch!! :(

Forms all completed now, I will definitely take my time to find something right for me although finances are an obvious concern at the mo. I have some part time work tho', looking after young lad with autism - just for a few hours a week but this is really keeping my confidence levels up,

The job I really want doesn't close until next week ~ it's all sent off and I think I should get an interview, so I dont think i will make any big decisions tomorrow, just play my cards close and see what happens,

indigestion not quite so bad, I have eaten more today so think that may have helped. Still flared, had to really push myself to get out this morning but I did it! :)

Have had quite a lazy day, reading, online spending quality time with my girlies and not feeling guilty about this.

Thanks again for all your kind words, they've helped me SO much xxXxx

Just read your post Ann, we must've posted at the same time xx

I'm still not quite sure about tabs rather than depo ~ it was the docs suggestion but maybe cos she knew I worried before...
Will maybe give them a coupla more days then see......

Do you think depo is most effective for particular joints whereas I just seem to feel yuk all over, knees, hands and Everywhere?

There's still so much I just dont understand about RA - I'm waiting for OU to do an Understanding RA course - I would sign up straight away.

Thanks for advice I will bear it in mind, hope you are ok? xxXxx

Hi Liz,

The depo jab in the bum is very effective for a flare like yours.
I have always steered well clear of oral steroids but I have had the jabs and always found them effective, both in the joints and the intramuscular "all-over" one. They don't cause indigestion and they are a single dose, one-off, you don't have the problem of having to taper down the dose to get off them like you do with the tablets.
Hope you feel better soon.

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Lizzie,

Glad to hear you are feeling better, and wish you all the very best on the job front.

I`m like Doreen - so far trying to get along without oral steroids, but I`ll take a depo any time it`s offered! I had one about 3 weeks ago into my bum and joints feel much better now.

Take care,

Kathleen x

Hi Liz

I meant to post a message to you the other night but I think I lost it somewhere in the system!! Pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better and well enough to start the job search. I agree with the others, do take your time and give yourself chance to get over this flare. I'd like to say there will always be jobs but of course I know that's not the case at the moment but do choose wisely and try not to feel rushed into it. Finances are always a difficult one and bring so much pressure with them, hope this is something that can take a back seat for just a little while; money does sort itself out one way or another, health doesn't!

I know how you are feeling Liz so you are in my thoughts. Do take care and try and rest up a little. good to hear you are spending special time with Jessica and Sophie. Good luck for tomorrow ThumpUp

Lyn x

PS I'm hoping for a depo tomorrow (with immediate results!) AND oral steroid increase ... MUST get to Cyprus on Wednesday!!!!

Ooo Wednesday and counting.... wishing you well too Lyn, how are you feeling today?

Thanks for advice, finances are tricky and it is a funny time jobwise across the whole country, with lots of reductions in spendings - which certainly seems to have led to some of the problems I have had recently....

...but if I am lucky enough to be successful tomorrow, i won't start straight away, ....& will be very careful.... They seem very interested in me & have fed back i have the right qualifications for them plus more... so we shall see..... dont want to be too hopeful....

Thanks for advice everyone, i feel very looked after on here - it's lovely and has really helped me xx

I hope my knee problems are temporary, pain still there but i feel so much more cheerful today, i think its helped by all the support from the forum - it's been amazing and Paul supportive too...

......well it's either that or side effects of the prednisolone - apparently it can significantly affect mood, i've certainly felt much happier today apart from my nettle stings earlier! xxXxx

Hope your depo goes ok tomorrow Lyn and things continue to improve for you xx

Hi Lizzie, Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. I can't believe how strong you have been in taking so much positive action to find another job despite the flare you are going through. Am thinking of you today and wishing for a good outcome.

Hi Lizzie

I'm glad you're feeling a bit more upbeat, I expect the job interview has helped. I hope that you get the job if that's what you want.

Steroids do tend to alter one's mood, I know the first one I had, I was smiling at everyone, expect I looked like a daft so and so! Do try and rest if you can, I know that's easier said than done with a family.

Wishing you lots of luck.

Lyn

Felt much better this morning but o, not too good this afternoon :( VERY hot hands and feeling bit down hearted.

So have been having a lovely restful evening, watching the athletics with hubby.

Worrying about finances and other things, I think is taking a toll. :(

....need to have a chilllout, been listening to music ~ playing in background now, going to get Hubs to light incense sticks before he goes out and then more chilling.

Girls have been helpful round the house, going to try enjoy the weekend and leave next week to sort itself out on Monday, hoping for some good news on Monday on the job front but what will be, will be...... xx

Hope u all can plan in some chill out times this weekend too xxXxx

Hi Liz, sorry to hear that your feeling so Low. Just wanted to ask how long have you been on the Sulza? When I went on Sulza it actually made my joints worse it can be one of the side effects of this medication. I hope that your doctor helped you out. It would be nice to hear how you got love and hugs
